Parental Involvement

The school recognizes the importance of a strong partnership between students, parents and staff in the development of an effective school.

The Parents and Citizens Association, the Parent Support Group and the School Council all provide parents with the chance to be involved.

Parents & Citizens Association and Parent Support Group
The Parents and Citizens Association and the Parent Support Group play a vital role in the allocation of supplementary funds for services and resources.  This high level of support from parents helps the school maintain a positive school ethos and to achieve its mission.  Help received from the parents is essential if the school is to continue maintaining its economic capacity in the community.

Parents with particular skills or knowledge in environmental education, mathematics, art, sport, electronics, publishing, photography and science have made valuable contributions to the learning program in recent years.



Parents assist in classrooms, in the Library and with lunchtime activities. There is a parent roster for the library and parents volunteer to take students for activities such as soccer, T-ball, cricket, netball and basketball.

Assemblies, the school newsletter, parent meetings and interviews are all used to ensure clear and open communication.
